Swiss Securities Post-Trade Council
In recent years, numerous standards have been developed within the European Union aimed at streamlining the cross-border settlement of securities transactions and making it more cost-effective. The Swiss SPTC has been commissioned by the Swiss financial centre to clarify the technical and legal aspects of aligning to EU standards and to work out proposals for a possible implementation.
The members of this working group are banks, the Swiss Bankers Association, SwissHoldings as representative of the Swiss industrial and service groups as well as SIX Swiss Exchange, SIX SIS and SIX Telekurs. The Swiss SPTC was founded in November 2006 by the members of the Swiss financial centre; administrative management is assumed by SIX SIS.
